Niseko is the ideal location to practice yoga.

We have started this Yoga Fest to let the locals know about the different types of Yoga that is taught in Niseko.  We also wanted to bring people together practicing yoga in various locations where they can appreciate the rich nature of this place.

Now we are aiming to make this event bigger and easier to  access  for people from all over Hokkaido and Japan so that everyone can come to Niseko to enjoy this amazing location to practice Yoga!

go up the mountain, let's do yoga

Hatha Yoga Basic

In this class Miwa will lead you to take Asana=poses thoroughly while breathing to stimulate the work of organs. The aim is to be conscious of movements of your muscle and the framework and to see how effective it is when you do this. Let’s concentrate on the mat for 60 minutes, feel your mind stop racing, and achieve the feeling of liberation right in the heart of Niseko’s natural surroundings.

After being certified as Yoga teacher in Tokyo, Miwa Moved to Niseko in 2012, then launched Niseko Harmony Yoga in 2015 with hopes to spread Yoga in the area. She leads lessons that can be a good introduction to all beginners using her own experience of having "inflexible body" and keeping the class small to see everyone well. Her objection is to bring harmony to body and soul, like [Wa], the 2nd letter of her name, which means harmony.

Vinyasa Yoga

A moderately-paced and fun Vinyasa class designed with postures to build core strength, to encourage stability and flexibility, and to fill the body and mind with positive energy. Be ready to challenge yourself and have fun! Modifications and options throughout the class will be given to cater to each student’s ability. All levels are welcome, though some yoga experience is recommended.

Jac first stumbled into a yoga class during one of her travels in 2004, and instantly fell in love with the practice. Jac did her Teacher Training with Denise Payne in Hatha Yoga and Yin Yoga, and attended clinics by Baron Baptiste (Power Yoga) and Nancy Gilgoff (Ashtanga). Jac is interested in the energetic and healing qualities of yoga. Jac currently teaches Hatha, Power and Yin yoga in Niseko where she is based.

Relax Ying Yoga

This class is good for all levels, and is designed to bring a good balance of Ying and Yang by practicing several standing poses(Yang) and stretching poses(Ying). We’ll pay attention to the breathing and deepening of the asana, to try to find “where you stand right now”. Happy to be there with all to experience this yoga class in this nature of Niseko.

Ai is a Yoga and Ski instructor based in half in Niseko and half in New Zealand, and enjoying her first summer in Niseko this year. She trains by running and mountaineering as well as Yoga , and her classes are made to increase concentration, and to build a strong body prone to injury.  She considers Yoga as a means to look into the Self, and emphasizes on the importance of uniting the body/mind/breathing/reality/expectations.
